There are bright and cheery homes, and then there’s this place.
This very colourful home for sale in Wichita, Kansas has been the subject of much conversation since the listing was posted on social media.
A Zillow ad for the property, which is priced at $128,000 (approx £91,5000) was shared to a Facebook group called Zillow Gone Wild and the response has been pretty mixed.
Some commenters have said they don’t mind the bright colours chosen to decorate the inside of the house, while quite a few others have rinsed it.
Pictures of the outside of the house look normal enough – the property has a cute little front porch and a sizeable front garden with a tree and a miniature street light leading up a short path.
But the inside contains a multitude of colourful things.
The interior of the home, which has two bedrooms and one bathroom, is splashed with bright, bold and (one can only assume intentionally) clashing colours.
There are healthy amounts of red, yellow, blue and green all over the kitchen and stairway.
In the kitchen, bricks have been painted white with a few also coloured as if a crayon scribbled over them, while other rooms in the house appear to have been assigned their own colour.
Communal living areas have been trimmed with a more subtle brown, but one bedroom has blue walls and darker blue skirting while the other has green walls, white skirting and green carpet.
The controversial colour choices don’t seem to have discouraged prospective buyers as the Zillow listing says that the house currently has a pending offer in place.
The post sharing the Zillow ad has over 800 comments and more than 960 reactions at the time of writing, with one commenter saying: ‘If a Crayola box vomited into a house, you would have this.’
Someone else said: ‘Someone went to the discounted paint rack and said yup I can make this work,’ while another wrote: ‘Today’s house is brought to you by the colour…all of them.’
Not everyone hated the decor however, with one person commenting: ‘I love this! But then again I’m an elementary teacher and make everything needlessly colorful. Sorry.’ [sic]
Someone else wrote that they ‘love it’ but would rather whoever the designer was had gone all out and made each room a totally different colour instead of just the bedrooms.
