At Home VE Day celebrations have replaced street parties and crowded pub gardens this bank holiday as coronavirus continues to impact our day-to-day lives.
This year, the Early May Bank Holiday was moved to today, Friday 8 May, to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of VE Day.

Morrisons Bank Holiday opening hours
Morrisons will be operating under usual hours on Friday 8 May, with stores open between 7am and 10pm.

Sainsbury’s Bank Holiday opening times
Most Sainsbury’s stores are expected to keep their usual opening times, with large stores open from 8am to 10pm and local express stores open 7am to 9pm.

Aldi Bank Holiday opening hours
Aldi will be closing slightly earlier on VE Day Bank Holiday.
The stores will be open from 8am to 8pm.
Lidl Bank Holiday opening times
Lidl’s opening hours over Bank Holiday won’t be any different than usual.
The stores will be open from 8am until 10pm – you can double check the opening times for your local store online.
