I think most of us can agree that changing the bedsheets is the worst of all chores.
It’s practically a workout. Once you’re lifted the duvet above your head, wriggled it to the precise corners of the cover, figured out which way round it’s all meant to go – you emerge sweating, breathless and exhausted.
Household chores are bad enough without also being so physically demanding.
But a new innovation could make this daunting task much simpler.
The new Koa duvet cover zips through the middle, so you don’t have to lose yourself head-first in the sheets in order to change them.
How does it work?
So, it’s really easy. Simply unzip, place the duvet on top and zip back up.
There are also anti-bunching ties in each corner, an added feature to hold the duvet in place.
No more squirming to reach the edges or desperately shaking out the duvet for an even distribution.
‘Koa is the first duvet cover designed to make changing the bed easier, quicker and simpler,’ explain creators Ben King and Luke Gray.
‘Koa’s inventive central opening makes the corners easy to reach and is designed so that there’s no climbing inside, heavy lifting, awkward stuffing, shaking or fiddly buttons.’
Ben and Luke have tested and designed more than 30 prototypes to make sure the Koa cover is soft and comfy – and they say the zip down the middle has been designed to be so soft that you won’t even notice it.
‘Climbing into fresh, soft sheets is one of the best feelings – 77% of people in our survey said they sleep better on fresh sheets – but changing the bed is one of the most hated chores,’ adds Luke.
‘We’re on a mission to take the hassle out of changing the bed and make fresh sheets more delightful.’
But, to get this innovative design off the ground, Koa creators are looking for public support. They are about to launch a Kickstarter (which will go live on 17 March) and are hoping to raise the funds to launch the product nationally.
