If you have a dog, dressing them up in all manner of embarrassing outfits is basically a pre-requisite of ownership.
The price of all these doggy get-ups can get expensive, though, which is why many pet owners will be delighted about a new range from Primark.
The outfits on sale at the bargain retailer are all themed, so you can dress your pooch as a unicorn, baby shark, or a flamingo.
The best part is that the costumes are just £7 each, so it can be dress-up time every day in your house.
As well as the themed costumes there are also ‘regular’ dog clothes, in the form of raincoats, jumpers, and denim jackets.
These are all on sale for between £5 and £7.
Bigger and smaller dogs can get in on the fun, as the clothes come in 26cm and 36cm sizes.
For reference, that’s about a small or a medium in dog sizes (think a pug and a cocker spaniel) so sadly extra big dogs won’t fit most of the items.
They will be able to enjoy the toys, however.
Primark is also selling a baby shark rope tug toy for £4. They’re shaped like a hand puppet and should provide hours of fun.
Basically, if you used to go into Primark and accidentally come out having spent £100, get ready for that amount to be doubled.
In other dog news, PETA are calling for the term pet to be outlawed altogether, as they believe that it’s a term which makes people think they’re above animals rather than their equals.
Instead they think we should refer to our pets as ‘companions’ to give them more dignity.
‘A dog is a feeling, whole individual, with emotions and interests, not something you “have”’, said activists.
A very fair point, but perhaps we won’t tell them about the puppy outfits in the meantime.
