Jenna Coleman is back on our screens in The Jetty, a BBC One drama in which she plays a police detective and widowed mum of a teenage daughter.
The four-part thriller has received rave reviews, with viewers branding it ‘compelling’ from the off, as Jenna stars alongside Bridgerton’s Ruby Stokes.
In a different role for the British actress, Jenna plays Detective Ember Manning as she tries to figure out how a fire at a vacation home is connected to a podcast journalist investigating a missing person’s cold case.
Of course, Jenna, 38, is best known for appearing in Doctor Who, Waterloo Road, and Emmerdale, the latter being her debut in 2005.

Who is Jenna Coleman’s partner Jamie Childs?
Jenna Coleman is currently in a relationship with director Jamie Childs, 35, who worked on the Netflix series The Sandman.
It’s believed that the lovebirds met while working on the drama in 2020, in which Jenna played Johanna Constantine.
It seems mixing business with pleasure worked well for them, as Jenna and Jamie have filmed together since.
Jenna starred in Jamie’s debut feature film, Jackdaw, which was released in January 2023.
The project follows a motocross champion and army veteran who is now caring for his younger brother. Broke, he agrees to do an open water pick up of a mysterious illegal package in the North Sea.
While the pair are famously private with their romance, Jamie previously mentioned Jenna when discussing the leap from TV to film.
‘I was in between two TV jobs at the time, sort of unemployed, and thought I can’t really sit around just watching movies for another month. I thought I should probably sit down and write one,’ he told Screen Rant.
Offering a brief insight into their relationship, he added: ‘Also, my partner basically stopped talking to me on a holiday.
‘She was rehearsing for something she was doing next, and basically, I realised that she just needed to get her head into it.
‘So, I put my headphones on and began writing, and that’s when it all started.’

Congratulations are in order for Jenna and Jamie, who are currently expecting their first child together.
The news first broke when Jenna was spotted cradling her growing baby on the red carpet in June.
Speaking about having a family one day, the actress previously told Harper’s Bazaar that she was in no rush: ‘Half of my friends have babies, and half don’t, so it doesn’t feel like a pressure. I want to take my time. There’s a whole lot more of the world for me to see first.’
After playing Queen Victoria, who had nine children, she added: ‘I’d love to have children one day. But not nine of them. I can tell you that as a fact.’
Jenna previously dated her Victoria co-star Tom Hughes, who played her on-screen husband Albert.
They were together for four years, before reports emerged in 2020 that they had split.
She also dated Richard Madden from April 2011 to 2015 and, before him, dated her Emmerdale co-stars Karl Davies from 2006 to 2009.
In 2015, Jenna was even rumoured to be dating Prince Harry. Neither confirmed a relationship, but they were spotted getting cosy at a charity polo match.
When quizzed on the speculation by Good Morning Britain later on, Jenna told Kate Garraway: ‘He is a friend of mine.’
