The future looks to be well and truly glittering for David Potts following the slay of all slays when he was crowned Celebrity Big Brother winner 2024.
David, 30, made it to the final alongside Nikita Kuzmin, Colson Smith, Louis Walsh, and Fern Britton, with millions tuning in and casting votes to allow the Ibiza Weekender alum to triumph.
Consequently, Strictly Come Dancing pro Nikita finished as runner-up, while Coronation Street favourite Colson emerged in third place.
Divisive X Factor judge Louis came fourth, while daytime TV icon Fern was first out in fifth place.
To pluck a word from David’s own daily vocabulary, viewers were ‘buzzing’ to see him walk (who are we kidding? It was definitely more of a strut) down the runway as the champion, having provided hours of comedic entertainment and memes galore.
Following David’s win, a PR expert gave Metro.co.uk the goss on what he could be set to bank and the kind of opportunities that might come his way – let’s just say, you shouldn’t expect David to disappear from your TV screens anytime soon.
What is David Potts’ net worth?
Specifics on David’s current net worth are unclear.
David’s net worth has been estimated to sit between £1million and £5million, which isn’t so surprising given how he’s become an integral part of British TV in recent years
As well as Ibiza Weekender, he is best known and loved for returning as a rep to ITV2 reality series Kavos Weekender. He’s also done Celebrity Dinner Date, Celebs on the Farm, Celebs Go Dating, CelebAbility, and The Cabins, to name a few.
What’s more, David is no stranger to Big Brother, having been a panelist on Late & Live several times for the 2023 civilian series.
How much could David Potts make after winning Big Brother?
Kayley Cornelius, a PR expert at Betfred, began: ‘With the nation’s eyes on David Potts after his successful stint in the Celebrity Big Brother house, David now finds himself in a valuable but limited timeframe where he has the ability to steer his career in any direction he wants, as many new doors will undoubtedly be opening for the Ibiza Weekender star.’
On what TV jobs he could acquire, she explained: ‘Like many stars who have won a show as high profile as Big Brother, the next appearances they tend to make are on morning TV, which could include shows like This Morning, BBC Breakfast, Lorraine, and Loose Women.
‘These shows operate on a meticulous schedule and budget, so it’s likely that a flat fee will be offered to David. This fee will greatly depend on the length of the feature, but he could easily expect to earn anywhere from £500 to £5,000 per appearance.’
However, she has no concerns about this marking the end of David’s TV career.
‘Throughout the year, we could see David making appearances on other TV shows such as Celebrity Gogglebox and Saturday Night Takeaway, or participating in celebrity specials of game shows like The Chase, Hunted, and Catchphrase. He may even be a strong contender for I’m A Celebrity.
‘All of these opportunities would come with a much higher price tag, meaning David could easily expect a five or even six-figure cheque per feature.’
Kayley added: ‘Additionally, if David continues to build an established name within reality TV, he definitely has the charisma to land a role as a presenter in the foreseeable future.
‘I fully expect him to make a return to regular Big Brother in the autumn to help AJ Odudu and Will Best present the Late & Live aftershow, which could again strike up another five-figure deal for David.’
Kayley believes David’s time in the CBB house will have also given him great exposure on social media.
For example, less than one hour after winning, his Instagram following was on 337,000. Less than 24 hours later, he had already risen to 354,000.
‘David’s time on Big Brother will undoubtedly have given his social media accounts a boost in followers, and with online conversations centred around him,’ said Kayley.
‘This is his prime time to create content and engage with his fans to keep his online community alive, which will play a massive role in helping him land future opportunities on and off the screen.’
Furthermore, she predicts ‘an array of brands, big and small’ shall be flooding his manager’s inbox with offerings, looking for him to promote their products to his followers.
‘Payment for influencer collaborations can vary massively depending on the size of the talent’s following, the length of the partnership, and the content required from the brand. These deals can pay as little as £100, with the potential to pay hundreds of thousands.’
So, what else lies ahead?
‘Looking longer term, I believe David will plan on returning to acting and could potentially become the face of any new and upcoming sitcoms,’ Kayley teased.
‘Depending on the size of the role he lands, he could be looking at earning anywhere from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands for each part.’
