Elizabeth Hurley has shared her feelings about being directed by her son in a sex scene, which recently caused quite a stir online.
The actress has now said she felt ‘liberated’ starring in the raunchy scene, for which 21-year-old Damian was behind the camera.
Elizabeth, 58, appears in Strictly Confidential, which is Damian’s directorial debut.
It also stars Lauren McQueen, Genevieve Gaunt, Georgia Lock, Freddie Thorp, Max Parker and Llyrio Boateng.
In the movie, Elizabeth’s character is seduced by another woman. However, she claims she didn’t feel embarrassed by her watching on during filming.
‘The things that his script needed me to do weren’t necessarily things I’d always done in movies many times,’ she told Access.
‘But having him there meant that I felt safe and looked after, and I knew in (post-production) he’d look after me.
‘So, actually, it’s kind of liberating to work with your family. I may do it again.’
Damian added that he didn’t find it ‘controversial’ to direct his mum in the steamy scenes.
‘Showbusiness has been a fundamental part of my entire life,’ he explained.
‘So to us, it’s not a thing. She takes my photos, I take hers.’
Indeed, back in 2018, Elizabeth revealed that many of the bikini photos she posts on Instagram are taken by Damian.
‘(Damian) definitely takes some,’ she told The Sun. ‘But I do have other friends that I can torture for some too.’
When the trailer for Strictly Confidential first dropped, viewers expressed their discomfort at how ‘weird’ it felt watching Elizabeth getting it on with a co-star, knowing her son was behind the camera.
‘Weird her son is directing her in that sex scene 😮’ wrote Chrissy Mandros Keller on Instagram.
‘She’s hot. But that has to be uncomfy!’ she added.
‘Why would he ever want or ask for her to do it and she agree to it,’ wondered Rachel Wren in response.
‘It’s bad enough all the half-naked pics he takes for her. Surely people thinking it’s weird won’t help his directing debut.’
Despite the mixed reviews thus far, Damian was also showered with praise for his first film.
‘I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!!!!’, commented Brooke Warne, daughter of late cricketer and Elizabeth’s former partner Shane Warne.
‘I’m so so so so so proud of you!!!!!!! I’m crying happy tears xxxxxx’, enthused stylist Martine Alexander.
