Ralf Little has acted on some of the UK’s biggest shows, from The Royle Family to Death in Paradise, but what is his life like outside of his career?
Ralf first shot to fame as Anthony Royle in the beloved BBC sitcom, before making a name for himself on other shows including Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps.
Having acted on TV since the late 90s, Ralf is also an accomplished stage performer, having been in shows including Frozen and Presence, for which he was nominated for an Olivier Award for portraying the Beatles legend George Harrison.
On film, meanwhile, his credits include 24 Hour Party People, playing Joy Division and New Order bass player Peter Hook, and Al’s Lads, as well as The Waiting Room, which he starred in alongside Anne-Marie Duff.

It is believed Ralf is still engaged to American playwright and screenwriter Lindsey Ferrentino, who is the daughter of comedian and magician, John Ferrentino.
The couple met when Ralf starred in the London adaptation of Lindsey’s play Ugly Lies the Bone, which she co-wrote with Kris Marshall, and he popped the question in 2018.
Speaking about the proposal, he told The Mirror in 2020:’It was very romantic. We were in a country house, it was a big surprise.
‘To her, I mean, I planned it in advance. I had a total result with the ring, though. She said to me if she ever got engaged there’s only one ring for her – her grandma’s, it’s absolutely beautiful. And free. I was like, “Brilliant.”‘
Ralf, who said he splits his time between Guadeloupe, London, New York, Florida and LA, explained he was in a long-distance relationship with Lindset as she is US-based.
Where was Ralf Little born?
Ralf was born in Bury, Greater Manchester to his two accountant parents and has a younger brother, Ross Little, who is also an actor and is best known for Born and Bred.
His family remained in the area while Ralf grew up and he attended both public school Bolton School and the University of Manchester.
However, he later abandoned his medical degree to concentrate on his acting career.

Ralf had minor roles in various programmes such as Elidor, Children’s Ward and Sloggers before his breakout role in BBC sitcom The Royle Family.
Playing Antony Royle, Ralf appeared in the show’s original run from September 1998 to December 2000, before returning in three of its five Christmas specials, broadcast in 2006, 2009 and 2010.
Ralf is also known for playing Jonny Keogh in six series of Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, also starring Sheridan Smith and Will Mellor.
His other TV credits include Doctor Who, BBC drama series Smile, the satire Inside No 9, and detective series including Lewis and Midsomer Murders.
In 2019, Ralf was confirmed as the new lead in Death in Paradise, following in the footsteps of Ben Miller, Kris Marshall and Ardal O’Hanlon.
