A 23-inch tall statue of The Last Of Us Part 2’s Abby could be yours for just $1,100 and a serious case of buyer’s remorse.
If you thought that £400 Armored Core 6 collector’s edition was absurd – and it was – wait till you get a load of this new merch for The Last Of Us Part 2, which will set you back a cool $1,100 (£880).
Ultra expensive statutes of pop culture figures, both iconic and obscure, are not a new concept but this new one for Abby from The Last Of Us Part 2 is pretty extreme by any standard, considering it’s a fairly unexciting pose and background.
For your money though you get a ‘bonus’ right arm that lets Abby hold a gun or a Molotov cocktail, as well as a hammer and an LED lamp.
To be fair, it does look like her, although the background is so generic, we’re not really sure what part of the game it’s supposed to be. Considering it’s named ‘The Confrontation’ we assume it must be near the end, where she battles Ellie at the cinema.
That’s seemingly confirmed by the fact that there’s a second companion statue featuring Ellie called ‘The Theater’, which you can see in a few of the pictures on the website.
We assume the Ellie one will be the same price although the Abby one is labelled as a ‘Bonus Version.’ We’re not clear if that just refers to the extra arm or not.
Abby was a controversial addition to The Last Of Us Part 2 and it remains to be seen if and when she will be added to the TV show.
The show’s creators have hinted that they might not follow the plot of the second game as closely as they did with the first and there is the rather obvious problem of who you’d get to actually play Abby, considering you need someone that is both ultra-muscular and can act.
We’ll have to see what they decided to do about that, but in the meantime the statue can be pre-ordered from the Prime 1 Studio website.
They’ve also got a statue based on Sam Porter from Death Stranding that’s $3,599 (£2,880) so we guess by that comparison the Abby one is a bit of a bargain.
