The BBC has sent Doctor Who fans wild after dropping a teaser for the next season just moments before the start of the Eurovision Song Contest.
Showing the return of David Tennant, the trailer gave viewers a glimpse of what to expect when it hits screens later this year.
The former star of the series has reprised his role as the Fourteenth Doctor in three special episodes that will air in November to coincide with the 60th anniversary.
In the trailer the Doctor was seen alongside Catherine Tate who has reprised her role as Donna Noble, with further teasers of other epic moments which include leading stars Neil Patrick Harris and Yasmin Finney who step into the world of Doctor Who as well.
The titles of the three episodes have also been revealed.
They will be The Star Beast, Wild Blue Yonder and The Giggle.
A brief scene also saw Neil appear in a top hat and suit as the Doctor dances with him on a street.
Beep the Meep was also seen however Donna didn’t seem too thrilled, exclaiming ‘what the hell’ when spotting the deceivingly cuddly creature.
Fans clearly couldn’t get enough.
‘The Doctor and Donna are back!’ one person posted on Twitter.
‘Omg I’m so excited. This looks amazing,’ someone else said.
Another added: ‘That Doctor Who trailer was short, but it was enough. Got me excited and I’m really intrigued by the episode titles.’
In the past few weeks three mysterious coded teasers had been scattered through the BBC One schedule, which included a binary code which gave eagle-eyed fans clues to one of the three special episode titles.
‘The titles are just the beginning of the Doctor’s biggest adventure yet,’ showrunner Russell T Davies said.
‘Autumn is coming, with three hours of danger, Donna and disaster about to be unleashed.’
After these three specials, Ncuti Gatwa’s first episode as the Fifteenth Doctor will then air over the festive period.
Doctor Who will premiere exclusively on the BBC in the UK and Ireland and on Disney Plus internationally.
