According to his death certificate, obtained by TMZ, he died of heart disease and was to be cremated.
The outlet reports that he suffered from ischemic heart disease as well as atherosclerotic coronary artery disease.
Representatives for Reddick confirmed the news of his death on March 17, and said at the time that he ‘passed away suddenly from natural causes’.

Following the sad news, many in Hollywood rushed to share their fondest memories with the late actor on social media.
Wendell Pierce, who starred opposite Reddick in the Wire, led the way on Twitter, posting: ‘A man of great strength and grace. As talented a musician as he was an actor. The epitome of class.
‘A sudden unexpected sharp painful grief for our artistic family. An unimaginable suffering for his personal family and loved ones. Godspeed my friend.
‘You made your mark here. RIP.’
Keanu Reeves, who plays the titular character in the John Wick franchise, and director Chad Stahelski, later offered an emotional message to their colleague, dedicating Chapter 4 to him.
‘We are deeply saddened and heartbroken at the loss of our beloved friend and colleague Lance Reddick,’ they said in a statement shared with People Magazine. ‘He was the consummate professional and a joy to work with.
‘Our love and prayers are with his wife Stephanie, his children, family and friends.
