The Traitors break-out star Maddy Smedley has teased she could be back on our screens for another project soon.
Picking up plenty of fans for her pursuit of Wildfred Webster on the BBC series, there’s been plenty of discussion that she could have a career in MI5 calling, but she’s decided to keep focusing on her acting.
As she made known on the programme, Maddy previously acted in two soaps.
‘I played Rita in EastEnders, a homeless woman, and also I played someone without a womb in Casualty,’ she told her fellow contestants.
Now she’s in the process of trying to line up her next role, which she said has been a long time coming.
‘Just had my first in person audition I’ve had in about 5 years, aghhhh screaming crying throwing up rn [right now],’ she shared on Twitter.
She added: ‘Everyone pray!’
Her post was quickly flooded with supportive comments, which included some checking to make sure Maddy mentioned her previous experience at the audition.
‘I hope they know you were in EastEnders and Casualty,’ one fan wrote, to which Maddy replied that she hadn’t forgotten.
While others wished her the ‘best of luck’, some joked and asked if she was going to be starring in ‘Homeless Woman the Movie’, which would see her back as Rita for round two on EastEnders.
Her fellow Faithful Rayan Rachedi on The Traitors also jumped in to say that ‘throwing up is my bit’, but that he’d be willing to share the ‘communal bucket’ to help tackle the nerves.
After being banished from The Traitors, Maddy gave the people what they wanted soon after, releasing some comedy sketches online that she made in lockdown.
The skits saw her pretend to be a call centre worker trying to sell goods, only to be met with some rather unfriendly potential customers who weren’t afraid to use colourful language.
While we wish her the best, there’s still hope that we could see Miss Maddy Marple join an intelligence agency in the future.
The Traitors is streaming on BBC iPlayer.
