Paolo Bardelli is a man brightening up his neighbours’ days in an uncoventional way: weekly disco performances on the streets of Glasgow.
The dad has spent ten weeks heading out to the streets, blasting out party hits, and singing along.
One video, shared on TikTik by Paolo’s daughter, Lara Bardelli, has been a hit far beyond the local area, with more than 500,000 views.
In the post, captioned ‘Paolo was the happiest minute of the week when it came to Thursday at 8pm’, Paolo can be seen donning a leather jacket while dancing to John Travolta’s Greased Lightnin’ and hyping up audiences to The Proclaimers’ renowned hit I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles).
A compilation of clips that were filmed across the ten weeks, in the video Lara writes that her dad ‘performed his heart out to make people laugh’ and ‘brought every family together.’
Speaking to Metro.co.uk, Lara, from Glasgow, said: ‘My dad is a construction worker but has a large interest in music.
‘He has all the equipment from doing different functions and emcee for festivals.’
‘Before I posted the video of my dad, I had a few TikTok videos reach 1000,000 views, but nothing to this level. I’ve also gained about 3,000 followers since posting it.’
Lara uploaded the clip to the site in the hopes of her dad being chosen for Ant and Dec’s ‘happiest minute heroes’ competition, a segment in Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway in which entrants can win an all-inclusive holiday of their choice.
‘I expected the video to do well but it has done better than I thought it would,’ explains Lara. ‘In the first 24 hours, the video had over 100,000 views but a day later, it’s already on half a million.’
