After months of homeschooling, parents appreciate teachers even more.
So to give our educators a well-deserved treat, one airline is offering free flights to a destination of their choice.
Qatar Airways is running the promotion until the end of today to celebrate World Teacher’s Day, which fell on Monday.
Teachers will get return economy tickets for any of its 90 routes, including Paris, LA and Sao Paulo, to use this year or in 2021.
Of course, if you are flying this year, you need to take note of the quarantine restrictions and FCDO advice.
The promo code will be valid for any flights until September next year. You need to redeem the code before 1 November but then you can book a flight up to 14 days before departure, which means you can go fairly last minute if you’re worried about the travel situation because of the pandemic.
You’ll also get 50% off another return ticket so a family member or friend can come with you, even if they aren’t a teacher.
People who work in the following roles can apply: classroom paraprofessional, teaching assistant & substitute, intervention & inclusion specialist, tutor, senior leader, early childhood teacher, student counsellor, primary teacher, secondary teacher, casual teacher, ESL Teacher, special ed teacher, teacher aide, vocational education and training (VET) instructor, pre-school & early years practitioner, and classroom technician.
The only catch is that there are only 21,000 codes available so you better be quick.
Sadly, you will have to pay for the taxes, service fees and market charges.
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, Mr. Akbar Al Baker, said: ‘We at Qatar Airways are incredibly grateful for the commitment and hard work of teaching professionals around the world who continue to educate our young people in these times of uncertainty.
‘We know that it has not been an easy task, yet teachers have been incredibly resourceful, turning to online learning and other methods.
‘As the largest airline flying consistently throughout the pandemic, we have also supported students in recent weeks by flying to wherever they need to be to start their studies on charter as well as scheduled flights.
‘As an airline, we firmly believe in the importance of education and are committed to lending our support to educational causes.’
You can apply and see the full terms and conditions on the Qatar Airways website.
