Since then, people have been creating their own creamy cauli-cheese on toast meals.
With many people hating on the humble cauliflower, this gooey cheese mashup might be the perfect way to add the vegetable to your diet.
Ingredients
- Two slices of toast
- Two cauliflower florets
- Mozarella
- Cheddar cheese
- 20g butter
- 20g flour
- 100ml milk
- Mustard powder
- Nutmeg
Method
- Toast two slices of thick bread and set it aside after setting the oven to gas 9
- Then, boil two cauliflower florets for ten minutes, drain them, and set them aside
- You’ll then need to make a roux – a white sauce – by adding 20 grams of butter to a pan and then the same amount of flour
- Then slowly add 100ml of milk and whisk on low heat until the sauce starts to thicken.
- Add two tablespoons of mustard powder and a pinch of nutmeg. Of course, you can add seasoning to your own tastes
- Then add half a cup of Mozarella and half of cheddar cheese. Stir it till it becomes a beautiful gooey mixture
- Let it cool for five minutes before pouring it onto the unbuttered sides of your toast
- Leave it in the oven until it’s golden on top and voila, you’re done.
