Banana Republic is bringing back an iconic collar necklace endorsed by Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
In 2014, the legal powerhouse revealed she liked the necklace as it was ‘fitting for dissent’.
Since then, the popularity of the accessory soared as many took to purchase the statement piece.
And now, for a limited time, Banana Republic is bringing back the accessory, calling it the Notorious Necklace, two weeks after RBG passed away.
The collar, which features a velvet tie and sparkling glass stones is available for $98 (£75) to U.S. shoppers.
The clothing retailer revealed the details of the item on Instagram, saying: ‘Reissued from 2012, back again for a limited time. You asked, we answered.
‘The notorious necklace, as worn by the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg, is coming back with a limited reissue.’
The brand said proceeds from the necklace will be going to the International Center for Research on Women (ICRW).
In an interview with Katie Couric, Justice Ginsburg revealed she called the accessory her ‘dissenting collar’.
At the time, she said: ‘This is my dissenting collar. It looks fitting for dissent.’
Banana Republic said all the money raised from the sales of the product will go to a cause Justice Ginsburg would support.
It said: ‘We continue to support women’s equality worldwide.
‘Banana Republic feels this is an opportunity to benefit the advancement of women’s rights as a continuation of the brand’s commitment to champion equality.’
Fans of the formidable figure can’t get enough and the necklace is already on a back order, with deliveries unavailable until 30 November.
On the retailer’s websites, fans have been leaving glowing reviews.
One person wrote: ‘I love RBG and knew I had to have this necklace from the first time I saw it. I finally ordered it and received it last week. It is beautiful and very nice quality. If you are on the fence go ahead and order it – you will not be disappointed!’
One person also wrote: ‘Necklace is beautiful! Absolutely stunning! Can be worn with jeans or a dress, it will look great!’
Others are channeling RBG’s spirit with the item, saying: ‘Beautiful and I’m so happy with it. I wear it for fashion and also whenever I wish to express my dissent in a sartorial way, in the spirit of RBG.’
