Love red velvet cake? Love brownies? Ever tried combining the two?

That’s exactly what expert self-taught baker Eloise Head has done.

The amateur baker has come up with another wonderful creation – the red velvet brownie – which looks amazing and probably tastes amazing too.

Sharing the tutorial on her Instagram page, FitWaffle Kitchen, Eloise showed that you only need the standard baking ingredients you can pick up in any supermarket.

The 26-year-old said you only need butter, sugar, eggs, flour, vanilla extract and white chocolate chips, along with red food colouring to give the treat its signature ruby hue.

Eloise also added that the cream cheese icing is optional as the brownie can be eaten without it.

But, owing to its deliciousness, we would recommend you don’t skip this crucial bit.

Ingredients

For the brownies

170g unsalted butter, melted

260g granulated sugar

1 large egg and 1 egg yolk

1 tsp vanilla extract

Red food colouring

200g plain flour

10g cocoa powder

1/2 tsp lemon juice

90g white choc chips

For the icing

115g butter, softened

225g cream cheese

1 tsp vanilla

500g icing sugar

For your brownies, whisk the melted butter with granulated sugar, then add the egg, egg yolk, vanilla extract, and red food colouring.

Then add flour and cocoa powder, stirring gently. Add a teaspoon of lemon juice, mixing it once then the chocolate chips. Fold them into the mixture to spread them evenly.

Once the mixture is well folded, pour it onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper.

Set the oven to 160C and put your baking tray in, leaving it for 30 minutes.

While that is baking, start on your icing.

For this, you’ll need to whisk butter and cream cheese before adding vanilla extract and icing sugar, sieved in gradually.

Once this is done, get your brownies out of the oven and leave them to cool.

After the brownies have cooled, spoon the icing mix on top and smooth it out till it’s even.

Then cut the whole thing into slices and enjoy.

Fans can’t get enough of Eloise and all her tasty treats.

Recently she also taught us all how to make four-ingredient no-bake Rolo-stuffed Oreo truffles.

We can only imagine what delectable goods she’ll make next.
