The start of the new school year means a whole new uniform.
And with all kids wearing the same thing, labelling everything to prevent mix ups is important.
But all parents dread having to stand for hours ironing or sewing name labels.
One mum has found a hack and she says it makes it much quicker.
Posting in the Family Lockdown Tips and Ideas Facebook group, the woman showed how she uses hair straighteners as they’re much easier to manoeuvre than an iron.
She simply takes the label on the piece of clothing, adds the name tag where she wants it to go and runs the straighteners over the top.
The post said: ‘Whichever one of you gorgeous people suggested hair straighteners for name labels…. GENIUS! All uniform done in minutes.’
If the piece of clothing doesn’t have a label, you can simply stick the tag along the bottom and use the same technique.
It means you can do all the uniform without wrestling with the ironing board.
Of course, you need to buy the iron on labels, rather than ones that can only be sewn on.
Other parents commented on the post and said they loved the idea.
One parent tried the hack and said: ‘So much easier than faffing about with the iron. So quick and amazing.’
Another added: ‘Done this for a few years now and it works wonders.’
But the hack came a little too late for some.
‘Why have i just seen this after I’e spent ages with my iron?’ one mum laughed.
At least she knows for next year.
