Since UK restaurants closed at the beginning of lockdown, Nando’s lovers have been left with a chicken-shaped hole in their hearts.

But the good news is that the chain has announced a brand new product to keep fans happy during lockdown.

Nando’s has brought out a new addition to its popular PERinaise range, featuring a garlicky twist.

That’s right, the chicken chain has just launched Garlic PERinaise, made up of the classic creamy PERinaise with a kick of garlic.

So there’s every reason to slather it on your lockdown sandwiches – or just eat it straight out the bottle (we’re not judging).

The new sauce is now available to buy at ASDA, Sainsbury’s and Iceland, with other UK supermarkets set to roll it out over the coming months.

The delightful creation comes in two different sizes – a 265g bottle and larger 465g bottle, and is priced at £1.85 for the former and £2.95 for the latter.

Garlic PERInaise is the latest addition to join the collection, with Mild, Hot and Vegan alternatives also available to purchase.

While most Nando’s restaurants remain closed, some have reopened for delivery only.

Four London restaurants  – Clink St, Camberwell, Canary Jubilee and Gloucester Road – and two in Manchester (at Fallowfield and Printworks) are currently offering delivery. These branches are open from 12pm to 9pm at this moment in time.

Restaurant teams are also working with Deliveroo to make sure that deliveries are as safe as possible, with drivers and restaurant staff maintaining social distancing when collecting orders and contactless delivery available upon request.

It’s worth pointing out that these restaurants are offering a slightly reduced menu to ensure they stick to social distancing measures.

In other food news, KFC has just announced it’s opening 500 stores across the country – but customers will only be able to order for delivery.
