If you’re having trouble hiding your toilet habits from your partner now you’re always in the house on lockdown, praise the lord that you don’t live in this flat.
Privacy seems to have gone out the window (or behind the shower screen) in this Sydney flat, which renters highlighted after seeing the listing.
The apartment costs $380 AUD per week (around £200) and you get two weeks free rent when you move in, which is a bit of an added incentive to make the place your own.
From the outside, it looks like a totally normal building. Head inside, though, and you might see something you wish you hadn’t.
It’s billed as a studio flat, which normally implies one large room with a bed and a kitchenette or kitchen, along with a bathroom.
Here, however, they’ve put the bathroom right in the middle of the kitchen area, with the only thing keeping your sleep routine or dinner from the loo being a part-frosted shower screen.
From the bedroom, you can see the toilet and shower area completely, as this part is not frosted at all.
Although your blushes may be spared slightly when someone else is in the kitchen, they’ll have to make sure they don’t look over the roughly metre-tall obscured part of the screen.
The images were shared on Twitter by Joan Westenberg who said: ‘Sydney real-estate is a literal toilet in your literal kitchen going for $380 a week in Surry Hills.’
Her tweet now has hundreds of likes, as well as numerous responses from incredulous renters.
One said: ‘How is that even legal? I could have sworn we have building codes that protect against this???’
Another replied: ‘That landlord should be in jail by now.’
Granted, your morning routine would be extra streamlined. Breakfast, showering, and having your morning pee could be done all at once.
It’s not exactly a haven, though, and you’d have to advise any prospective guests to go to the loo before they come over, or risk losing their modesty altogether.
The Surry Hills area of Sydney is one of the more expensive suburbs of the Australian city. $380 is the average weekly price for a studio apartment in this district.
The flat’s decorated beautifully, so the question is really how much you value your own privacy.
Apparently here in London, that price is £1,620, making this one something of a steal.
