Our favourite chains may have closed their doors, but that hasn’t stopped some of us attempting to recreate menu items at home.

Some restaurants have gone as far as to reveal how to make their customer favourites – like Gregg’s DIY bake tutorials and Wagamama’s virtual katsu curry masterclasses.

But for the restaurants that haven’t, some people have taken it into their own hands.

One woman claims to have recreated the McDonald’s Mocha Frappe and says it tastes even better than the real thing.

She decided to post her sweet creation in the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group, writing: ‘Thank you to whoever shared the McDs mocha frappe recipe.

‘It tastes exactly the same!! Maybe a little bit better.’

The recipe originally comes from The Chunky Chef and needs six ingredients: cold coffee, almond milk, chocolate syrup, granulated sugar, whipped cream and a chocolate bar (for shavings).

In terms of the method, start by brewing the coffee and then let it cool to room temperature. Then pour the coffee into ice cube trays and freeze.

Once frozen, add the coffee ice cubes to a blender, along with the almond milk, chocolate syrup and sugar.

Blend until the desired texture is reached, then top up with whipped cream, a drizzle of chocolate syrup and grated chocolate shavings.
