Cassidy Capen, 27, met her now wife Hannah, 24, on an unlikely place – Tumblr.

Hannah was living in Wisconsin in 2017 when she met and Cassidy, who’s from Connecticut.

After deciding to meet in New York, they felt an instant connection and two months later, Hannah moved in with Cassidy.

Two years later, they decided to get married.

The couple knew they wanted a destination wedding but as these require meticulous planning and don’t fit everyone’s budgets, Hannah and Cassidy decided to elope.

They decided on Iceland and chose a beautiful mountain with a waterfall as the place they wanted to exchange their vows.

Hannah and Cassidy had their dresses fitted together and included bustles in them to enable themselves to move around while hiking the mountain.

And because you can’t climb a mountain in dainty heels, they naturally went for hiking boots under their white dresses.

The American couple didn’t choose Iceland by chance either. They thought back to the place Cassidy proposed where was a novelty scratch-off map of Iceland.

They then booked flights to the capital Reykjavik and on the big day, drove an hour and a half to get married on a cliffside.

The day was as magical as you could imagine, though the stunning brides did turn up 45 minutes late.

‘It was a struggle,’ Hannah told Insider about hiking in their dresses.

‘At first, I was nervous just about getting it dirty or muddy, because it was raining. But once it was dirty we kinda just went for it.

‘It was just magical for it to be just the two of us.’

‘I thought that I wasn’t gonna cry, but I cried through our whole entire wedding,’ Cassidy said.

‘Hannah isn’t a crier at all, but at one point during the ceremony, I looked up and she had this facial expression that I’d never seen before. I thought that she was having regrets.’

‘I later found out that she was trying really hard not to cry because she was happy.’

Hannah added: ‘I just remember feeling like the whole moment was magical,’ she said.

‘I feel like, at that moment, that’s when it hit me that we were married.’

When they got back to the capital, the newly-married couple had a photoshoot with their mini cake and had a low-key day.

When they got to the hotel, they danced, ate spaghetti hoops, drank champagne, had a bath and fell asleep at 11:30.

‘I wouldn’t change a thing about it,’ Cassidy said.

How beautiful.
