EASTER EGG DELIVERY

The UK is facing spending the Easter weekend in lockdown in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic – with the restrictions set to stay in place until at least Easter Monday.

And there’s already been confusion over whether we’ll be getting our usual Easter eggs this year, with some corner shops being wrongly told by officials not to sell the chocolate treats this year before they returned to the shelves.

But while people are staying home, Easter chocolate – and sending Easter eggs to your loved ones – doesn’t have to be cancelled, with shops offering Easter eggs delivered to your door.

But who can you get your Easter eggs delivered by?

What shops are offering Easter egg delivery during lockdown?

While you can get your Easter eggs delivered with your online shop from major supermarket chains, a number of other stores are also offering online delivery – meaning that even if you can’t see your loved ones in person over Easter you can still send them a sweet treat.

Here are just some of the chocolate makers still offering delivery at this time:

Thorntons

Thorntons is still delivering its Easter range to customers, although it’s worth noting that they have had to pause taking new orders due to customer demand.

According to their website they’ll be taking more orders from 9am tomorrow morning, although obviously keep checking back for details.

Lindt

Lindt is still delivering Easter treats, although they’ve warned on their website that stock on the Easter range is running low due to current demand.

Delivery could also take up to seven working days, so you’d better place your order quickly if you want it in time for the Easter weekend.

Hotel Chocolat

You can order Easter treats from Hotel Chocolat, although a message on the website from CEO Angus Thirlwell says that they have ‘streamlined’ their range of products for the time being to allow staff to work more safely and smoothly in the company’s distribution centre.

Cadbury

You can order Easter eggs directly from Cadbury, however the site is proving popular as they’ve currently paused taking new orders as they’ve reached the maximum daily threshhold.

The site has said they’ll be taking more orders from tomorrow so be sure to check back then.

Amazon

Amazon is among companies still delivering during the pandemic, and they’ve got a big range of Easter eggs on their website. However bear in mind that they’re currently prioritising essential items, so your delivery might take a little longer than usual to arrive.
