The Easter bank holiday weekend is here, albeit as the coronavirus pandemic heightens and the UK remains on lockdown.
Post offices were categorised as an essential service by Prime Minister Boris Johnson, meaning they can remain open, with the Royal Mail still collecting and delivering post – but how will the Easter weekend affect trading?
Here is everything you need to know about the Post Office’s opening hours over Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.
Are Post Offices still open this Easter weekend?
The Post Office will not be making any collections or deliveries over Good Friday, or Easter Monday, meaning many local branches will be closed then too.
There will be a normal postal service on Saturday 11 April.
However, as is typical on Sundays in most of the UK, there won’t be any letters or parcels arriving on Easter Sunday, 12 April.
Royal Mail said: ‘We deliver and collect mail on most days of the year, including Saturdays.
‘However, we don’t usually deliver or collect on bank and public holidays.’
Opening hours will resume as normal on Tuesday 14 April.
