If you’re a fellow dog lover, then by now you’re probably familiar with Pug Café – the company that hosts pop-ups of the greatest kind: with dogs.
Contrary to the name, it’s not all just about pugs; so far, we’ve also been given the joy of cockapoos, Pomeranians and dachshunds.
While we’re on the topic of sausage dogs, we have good news – there’s a new party for pooches this weekend and this time it’s all about the 70s.
This coming Sunday (8 March), dogs dressed in their finest sequins, spandex and flared jeans will descend upon The Allegory in Shoreditch for the first-ever sausage dog disco.
Not based in the capital? Don’t worry, the party will keep on groovin’ in Newcastle, Southampton and Manchester as well, though dates have not yet been announced.
The playlist will showcase the best of the Motown and disco eras so that pooches can break out the moves on the doggy dance floor, while sipping on pawsecco and champaws.
And posing for the puparazzi like the divas they are, obviously.
Humans can join their pup in a toast, with cocktails and coffee on the menu, as well as yummy cakes.
The theme for the day is love+disco, so there will also be a kissing frame and a lover’s bench, as well as plenty of funky decorations.
As is often the rule for Pug Café events, it’s one breed only and this time it’s dachshund.
Both dog owners and dog lovers itching to cuddle up to pooches – but who don’t have one – are welcome to come along.
Tickets start from £10 for adults and cost between £5 to £7 for those aged under 16, while anyone under the age of six can come along for free.
Word of warning: these events usually sell out fast, so it’s recommended that you get in there quick if you want to show off your best John Travolta routine or Do The Hustle.
