Coronavirus: People are sharing their quarantine routines and they’re truly inspiring

The coronavirus pandemic and resulting lockdowns, self-isolation, and quarantines have meant we’ve needed to rapidly adjust to a new way of life.

How do we structure our days now we don’t have to wake up early to commute into work?

What do we do to fill the hours now we shouldn’t go to pubs or restaurants?

To provide us examples to follow in these trying times, many are taking to social media to share their daily schedules, which are being dubbed their ‘quarantine routine’.

Some are more helpful than others.

One vegan ‘plant mom’ shared an easy way to break up the day, outlining how she does ‘something for the brain’, ‘something for the soul’, ‘something for the body’, ‘something productive’, ‘something for the heart’, and ‘something fun’ each day.

Another Twitter person created a thread on how to make your time in quarantine a moment for self-improvement, advising: ‘think about everything you usually do, manage your time and add in your new routine everything you wish to do. ex: in mine, I’ll make workout schedule for every day I have available.

‘During the quarantine, focus on your mind, your now habits and slowly build new ones.’

Others have share the more blunt reality of their routines under these new conditions – most of which involve despair, spending too much time on the internet, and masturbating.

And then, of course, there are the pop culture referencing meme quarantine routines, which are just as valid.

FYI, it is actually a wise idea to stick to some sort of daily routine and add some structure to your day, even if it’s just deciding when to wake up or saving your TV-watching for the evening.

When you’re stuck inside and it feels like the world is ending, it’s easy for the days to all collapse into one big blur.

Do feel free to share your quarantine routine in the comments, whether they’re suitably self-care focused or just sobbing in bed.
