Ever since I was at university, I’ve had terrible hangovers.
Maybe it was the stomach ulcer I got after a particularly savage night on the pints, but since the age of around 19, I’ve just not been able to hack it. Think: nausea and vomiting that lasts all day, blinding headaches, the works.
The annoying part is, though, that I love drinking and enjoy the social aspect that comes with it (so don’t go telling me to just stop because that’s not the point here).
In short, I’m getting sick of scrolling the web for hangover remedies every time they hit and wasting an entire day rotting in bed picking over a Heinz Chicken Soup with a side of dry bread and regret. I need a solution, and I need it fast.
You can imagine I was pretty hyped, then, when I discovered Myrkl.
Myrkl 15 Dose Original Pack
The patented formula contains a science-based formula made up of high performing bacteria, L-Cysteine and Vitamin B12, designed to help keep your hangovers at bay. For me, Myrkl is now a must-have.
Buy NowScientifically tested and perfected through 30 years of research and development, Myrkl is a supplement formulated with high-performing bacteria, L-Cysteine & Vitamin B12, designed to deliver all the nutrients you need to battle a hangover before you even start drinking.
Intended to be popped a couple hours before you start on the booze, this clever supplement could just be the lifesaver we’ve all been after, described by one reviewer as an ‘Act of God’. Crikey.
But how, you ask? It’s all down to the high-performing L-Cysteine and Vitamin B12.
Vitamin B12 contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, helps to support the immune system and contributes to normal energy levels. The idea is that this vitamin will keep that sloggy feeling at bay in the morning, working to pep you up out of your alcohol-induced pit.
It can also help to relieve symptoms such as headache, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, and irritability. Sign me up.
L-cysteine is a naturally occurring amino acid that plays a key role in the synthesis of proteins, including glutathione, which is involved in normal cellular processes.
Like vitamin B12, some studies have found that L-cysteine can help with hangover symptoms like nausea, headache, stress, and anxiety.
The pills come in both on-the-go sachets with one two-pill dose and larger packs of 15 doses. I’m a big fan of the on-the-go sachets as you can just pop them in your bag should a drinking situation emerge (sometimes they creep up on you).
So, I had to put the Myrkl tabs to the test
With my work Christmas party on the horizon, I knew that this would be the perfect time to give them a try. I popped two pills two hours before heading out to drink and hoped for the best.
Five beers, two tequila shots and a surprisingly decent sleep later, I awoke feeling… dare I say, fresh?
While I hadn’t got overwhelmingly drunk, I had definitely drank enough to be feeling fairly rotten the next day on a usual basis. We’re talking deep, painful headaches and crippling nausea, but probably not in the realm of vomiting.
But, dear reader, as I sit here this morning writing this, I feel pretty good.
I’ve got the light wooziness of a night well done, but my nausea is pretty much non-existent and head is fairly clear. I do actually feel somewhat fresh.
While I’d like to test them further on nights of both heavier and lighter drinking (I’ve got my eye on you, New Years), today’s results have me feeling pretty sure that Myrkl is a big fat yes for me.
Now, I’m not telling you here and now that these will definitely work for you, because everyone is different yada yada yada, but considering there’s a chance they just might help you like they’ve helped me, I’d say they’re worth a go.
Still not convinced? Here’s some pretty shiny testimonials from people who tried Myrkl and thought it was the real deal.
One raved: ‘I tried Myrkl for the first time and had a great night out. The next day, I didn’t experience the usual after effects and still had plenty of energy to enjoy the day. Definitely worth a try!’
‘I suffered in the past but since Myrkl I’ve had no problems. I wasn’t sure they really did anything so tried not using them, I regretted that the next morning!’ Added another.
Shots, anyone?
