Just when we thought the McDonald’s menu couldn’t get any better (hello, Big Mac sauce) the fast food giant has brought out a new and improved item – the triple cheeseburger.
The cheesy triple patty launched at selected McDonald’s branches yesterday, as part of a new trial.
The hope is that burger enthusiasts will love it so much that the brand can roll it out across all their 1,249 branches restaurants nationwide.
With three slices of meat, three slices of cheese, the OG dressing, sauce and the regular bun, it’s hard to believe that people won’t love it.
The triple threat, which is around 520 calories, comes in at £2.39 – which is slightly pricier than the double cheeseburger for £1.69.
There are 60 branches taking part in the UK, including restaurants in Doncaster, Hull, York and Sheffield, alongside nine branches in Ireland – where the burger will be priced at €2.90.
Sadly, it looks like Londoners will have to wait to get their hands on the meaty creation, as none of the capital’s restaurants are taking part.
Of course, it’s worth pointing out that anyone who can’t get down to one of the restaurants trialling the new product can make their own triple cheeseburger, with three regular cheeseburgers. This move will, however, set you back an extra 58p, as a regular cheeseburger is is priced at 99p (3 x 99p = £2.97).
But it seems the treats keep on coming from McDonald’s in 2020.
Earlier this year, burger fans were overjoyed when the chain brought back the Grand Big Mac – which is available for eight weeks.
