If you’re a singleton looking to be more daring in your dating life then perhaps you need a sign.
How about a whole billboard? One man has put up a massive advert encouraging women to get in touch with him.
Mark Rofe, 30, said he’s been single for more than a year and has noticed all his friends are getting married while he’s struggling to get a date.
So, instead of just working on his Tinder profile, he decided to buy a 3m high and 6m wide billboard for £425 to flex on his qualities.
And in just 24 hours he’s had 124 applicants.
The massive sign in Manchester features a photo of him lounging on his side and says: ‘Single? Date Mark. This could be the sign you’ve been waiting for.’
Mark, from Sheffield, said he bought the billboard to stand out from the crowd.
6ft Mark – whose ideal woman is Maya Jama – said: ‘I’ve had more than 100 people get in touch. Unfortunately half are men but I’m still very flattered.
‘I’ve been single for a little while now, and many of my friends are married or in long term relationships.
‘I’ve tried the dating apps, but they just weren’t working for me, so I decided to try something a little bit different to try and stand out.’
The 48 sheet billboard went up in the centre of Manchester last week and will be seen by around 462,000 drivers a week.
He said he placed it in Manchester because it is one of the largest cities in the UK, near where he lived and has the highest footfall in the region.
Mark – who jokes he’s kissed over three women – works in marketing but insists his campaign is totally legitimate.
Describing himself as ‘extremely handsome and modest’, Mark has launched a website where applicants can get in touch.
And of course, those billboards don’t come cheap so Mark has launched a crowdfunding website to pay for more in case the first doesn’t do the trick.
He hopes to raise enough funds to purchase more in Dublin, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Cardiff, Leeds, Sheffield, Portsmouth, Bristol, and London.
He added: ‘If at first you don’t succeed, buy more billboards?’
That’s one way to go about it.
