Online retailer In The Style has raised over £100,000 for Samaritans, with a t-shirt released after the tragic death of TV presenter Caroline Flack.

The UK-based label started selling t-shirts with a quote posted on Instagram by Caroline recently, not long after it was announced that the 40-year-old had been found dead in her home in a suspected suicide.

The £10 t-shirt said ‘In a world where you can be anything… Be kind’ and all proceeds were promised to mental health charity Samaritans.

In an Instagram post, In The Style announced the shirt, saying: ‘In light of recent tragic events and the ongoing mental health battles faced by so many we feel it’s so important as a brand to use our platform to raise further awareness to mental health and the impacts surrounding this.’

As well as the profits going to Samaritans, the retailer decided to waive delivery fees to maximise donations. And it clearly worked.

After its launch yesterday the t-shirt – which is available in three colours – sold out almost immediately, and has gone on to raise a huge amount of money.

Celebrities and influencers including Mrs Hinch, Francesca Allen of Love Island, and Sam Faiers praised the company for the fundraising effort.

‘We wish this was under different circumstances, but in light of everything, we think this is such an incredible message and are overwhelmed by the support you guys have shown for the #BeKind tees and raising money for @samaritanscharity !!

‘We are sorry for anyone who experienced difficulty trying to purchase, we are out of stock but working tirelessly to get more T-shirts online by 12pm today for you!

‘To already of raised over £100,000 in just a few hours is incredible and will go so far in supporting those that need it most.’
