Today in truly haunting images, a selfie posted to a group chat that included an unexpected addition.

Olivia Nunn, from Middlesborough, went out for a night with her pals and the next morning was deathly hungover.

As is standard, she sent a selfie to demonstrate her hangover to the girls’ group chat the next morning, wearing a hoody and looking miserable.

What she didn’t notice was the massive spider chilling in her hood.

But one of her friend’s spotted it instantly – and had to let Olivia know that a creep-crawly was hanging out right next to her head.

You can just imagine the horror as Olivia read that message.

While Olivia may have been freaked out, her friends were able to have a laugh at the situation.

One mate, Grace Graham, shared the selfie on Twitter, writing: ‘Nearly 24 hours later I still cannot get over Olivia sending a hungover selfie in the groupchat and there’s a spider just chilling in her hood.’

We wouldn’t be able to get over it either, to be fair.

That tweet ended up being retweeted more than 3,000 times and has been flooded with replies from people expressing just how horrible the realisation that a spider is on your head must be.

One person wrote: ‘NO can u imagine anything worse especially hungover’.

Another added: ‘My soul would have left my f***ing body omfg’.

One man shared a similar experience, after he too had taken a picture of himself and didn’t realise a spider was crawling right along the lining of his jumper.

Sharing a photo revealing a giant black spider crawling across his collar, he wrote: ‘I’ve been there trust me’

Now if you’ll excuse us, we’ll be sensing nonexistent spiders on our face for the rest of the day. Thanks for that, Olivia. We hope you’ve got rid of that hoody.

To her credit, Olivia seems pretty chilled out about the incident. Responding to a tweet asking her how she feels following the ‘trauma’, Olivia responded: ‘Feel fine tbh spiders are my friends.’

A braver woman than we are.
