Georgie the cat absolutely loves lounging on the sofa and watching TV – and she’s looking for a home with someone who’ll join her for watching quiz shows.
Georgie, aged 11, is described by Cats Protection as a telly addict.
Her favourite programmes are wildlife documentaries and quiz shows – the bright flashing lights, beeps, bongs, and buzzers keep her attention – but she’ll happily watch pretty much anything.
The cat is now looking for a home with someone who will accompany her for her daytime TV marathons and provide the perfect comfy furnishings for her to doze on.
When Georgie isn’t watching TV (a rare occurrence), she likes to play with catnip and her special fishing rod toy. Handily, this gives her some exercise and a welcome break from sitting on her favourite chair or sleeping in her igloo, her safe place where she feels warm and secure.
While she likes to have a TV-watching buddy, Georgie doesn’t need much fuss. She needs a daily brush and will occasionally allow herself to be stroked, but only if she really likes you and is in the mood to get snuggly.
Cats Protection in Epsom is calling for stay-at-home types who love the sound of Georgie to give her the home comforts she deserves.
Helen Fisher, Cats Protection fosterer, said: ‘Georgie is full of character. She loves to sit on the floor alongside me and, while she isn’t yet brave enough sit on my lap, Georgie will squeak in her funny meow if she wants attention.
‘Georgie does love her home entertainment, but it isn’t all about television.
‘As well as her favourite programmes, she loves to have the radio on and sometimes a particular tune or instrument will catch her attention. Life is never dull with Georgie.’
This long-haired grey and white cat is looking for an experienced cat owner in the Epsom area who has the patience to allow her the space to settle in her own time, and the understanding to satisfy the quirks in her character.
She cannot live with dogs, other cats, or children.
Cats Protection’s Epsom Ewell & District Branch is calling on anyone who fits the bill, and with a secure garden (but no children), to get in touch by emailing adoption@epsom.cats.org.uk or giving the branch a ring on 0345 260 1387.
