If you’re still looking for some last-minute gifts, one mum has a great idea to create your own presents that won’t break the budget.
She made cute festive-themed chocolates using ice cube trays and chocolate bars from Poundland.
The mum bought the trays, which feature gingerbread people, star and present shapes, earlier this week.
She then picked up a pack of Dairy Milk bars and some Terry’s Chocolate Orange bars, before melting them down and pouring them into the moulds.
Once they were set, she pushed them out of the moulds and wrapped them in Christmas cellophane and tissue paper with some red ribbon to create a lovely gift.
She said that she did it with her kids and they loved getting to create something together.
Posting on the Poundland Appreciation Society Facebook group, she said: ‘Love a homemade gift.
‘I’ve done these with the children as little last-minute presents.
‘Everything from Poundland.
‘I melted the chocolate spooned it into the moulds and then put in the fridge for a couple of hours.
‘So easy don’t know why I’ve not done it before.
She said she melted the chocolate – six small Dairy Milk and one and a half chocolate orange – in a bowl over a pan of boiling water to stop the chocolate burning.
Other people in the group loved the idea and said they would be perfect for adding to Christmas Eve boxes.
One said: ‘What an excellent idea. Can’t believe I haven’t thought of using chocolate oranges before.’
Another added: ‘Those are lovely. If that was a present for me under my Christmas tree I would be very happy.’
