If your name is Greg you’re in with a chance of getting free Greggs delivered to your door for a year

Attention Gregs, Gregorys, and even McGreggors: you’re lucky enough to have been blessed with a chance to win free Greggs* for a year.

*As in the food from the store, Greggs. Not more people named Greg, which would be weird.

Just Eat has launched a competition to give anyone with ‘Greg’ in their name the chance to get free Greggs delivered to your door.

Greg doesn’t need to be your first name, to be clear. If there’s an uninterrupted ‘Greg’ in your name – think McGregor, Gregson, Gregina – you’re allowed to enter.

One lucky winner will be entitled to a free meal from Greggs delivered every month for one year – so we’re talking about 12 free pasties spread out over 2020.

This doesn’t sound that spectacular, but the little bonus is that your freebies will be delivered to your door. Imagine using one of your monthly Greggs on a hangover, and smugly being able to get a sausage roll handed to you without spending a penny. That’s a pretty sweet prize.

So, how do you enter? There are some restrictions.

To be in with a chance of winning the grand prize, you just need to order any Greggs item for delivery (you’ll have to pay for this one, sorry) through Just Eat.

The caveats we mentioned are in part due to Greggs delivery not yet being available all over the country. For now it’s only those in London, Newcastle and Glasgow who are able to order Greggs through Just Eat, and thus these are the only people who can enter.

Even within those cities, you’ll need to live close to specific participating Greggs stores. In London these are the Whitechapel, East Ham, and Elephant & Castle locations, in Newcastle it’s St Mary’s Place, Gosforth High Street, and Byker, and for Glasgow you’ll need to order from Victoria Road or Dumbarton Road.

You’ll need to live within delivery distance of one of those shops to enter. If you do, just order whatever you fancy from Greggs (we’re partial to a vegan sausage roll) through Just Eat, and as long as you have a ‘Greg’ in your name, that’s an entry.

Oh, and this order will need to take place fairly soon, as the competition is running from now until 10 December.

Like we said, there are quite a few requirements. To recap, to be in with a chance of winning you need to have ‘Greg’ in your name, you have to live near one of those specific participating locations, and you’ll need to order something from Greggs in the next few days.

That rules most of us out, but a few blessed Gregs are reading this and getting excited. Those Gregs, go for it. Order yourself a Festive Bake and rejoice – even if you don’t win, at least you get the joy of a nice pasty.
