In Christmas combinations we didn’t know we needed, Morrisons has created a mince pie sandwich.
Yes, Christmas sandwich season is starting and brands are already trying to innovate to create this year’s big hit.
Morrisons’ latest offering involves a fruity panettone style bread roll, mince pie chutney, creamy cheddar cheese and crumbly Wensleydale.
That combination of sweet and savoury sounds delicious. Expect to see it alongside the traditional turkey feast Christmas sarnie.
It’s available from today 28 October until Christmas Eve and costs £3.
It is part of the Morrisons meal deal, which includes all Food to Go mains, snacks and drinks for £3.50.
Richard Jones, Food to Go Buyer at Morrisons, said: ‘We’ve upped our Christmas sarnie game this year to offer something completely new for customers.’
In terms of Christmas treats being released elsewhere, Costa revealed theirs earlier this month.
It includes a Terry’s Chocolate Orange muffin and the Pigs & Blankets Mac & Cheese.
If hot drinks are what make you feel festive, they’re adding Irish Velvet, hazelnut praline and gingerbread flavours to their coffees this year.
If coffee isn’t your thing, there’s a Black Forest flavour hot chocolate, a Christmas tea and hot spiced apple.
Eric Tavoukdjian, Commercial Marketing Director at Costa Coffee said: ‘The new Irish Velvet family is sure to be a big hit and the Terry’s Chocolate Orange Muffin will be making thousands of Chocoholics wishes come true.
‘We hope families and friends are inspired to come together and enjoy a Christmas treat in-store this season.’
Costa Coffee’s Christmas menu will be available in stores nationwide from Friday 1 November 2019.
