Meet Jet2Weddings: all-inclusive holidays, with a weddings thrown into the mix.
Taking you from the proposal location to the moment you say ‘I do’, the packages look after flights, hotels, transfers, and the nitty-gritty details of your big day — so you can sit back and enjoy your bride and groom era.
Speaking to Metro, Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, commented: ‘With the launch of Jet2Weddings, we are now giving customers the opportunity to say “I do” abroad alongside all the benefits of booking an award-winning package holiday with the UK’s largest tour operator.’
He continued to say they are ‘delighted’ to offer the new package, as it not only marks the start of an ‘exciting new chapter’ but he believes it will be ‘extremely popular’ with customers.
Helen Doyle, Managing Director at Perfect Weddings Abroad, reiterated his remarks, calling it ‘the perfect match’ as it ‘offers everything that couples need to enjoy their perfect day in the sun’ and create their ‘dream wedding’.
With over 35 wedding locations in Cyprus and a mix of three, four and five star hotels, couples can choose from three package options: Classic, Deluxe, and Luxury.
They can also decide whether they want the wedding to take place in the summer months along the beach or in winter with a cosy hotel backdrop.
What’s included in a Jet2Weddings package?
Simply put, it’s everything you need.
In addition to flights, your hotel stay, and the ceremony, the package comes with a wedding checklist and a dedicated planner to ensure you don’t accidentally skip any crucial steps.
And as the big day is happening overseas, it comes with a complimentary check of legal paperwork before you leave the UK, as well as local marriage fees you may incur in Cyprus taken care of.
To wed in Cyprus, UK citizens require their valid passports, full birth certificates, Single Status Statutory Declaration from a solicitor or a Notary Public with an Apostille stamp, a wedding licence, a wedding certificate and two witnesses over 18 years old.
Jet2Weddings include:
- A Jet2Weddings expert to plan the finer details and book any additional wedding services
- A wedding planning kit filled with everything you need to make your wedding unique to you
- A wedding checklist and a helping hand along the way so you don’t forget anything
- Help with and a second set of eyes on the legal paperwork before departure
- Covering the cost of any local marriage fees, including special marriage license fees, register fees to perform the wedding, Cypriot apostille for the marriage certificate and wedding venue fees
- A handtied bouquet of roses or seasonal flowers for the bride
- A rose buttonhole for the groom
Those choosing the Classic package will have to organise their own makeup artist and hair stylist, as well as a professional photographer, but if you go for the Deluxe or Ultimate wedding package, those services are all included.
Ultimate weddings also cover way more than just your ceremony. The package includes a private reception venue, a three-course meal for guests, a DJ and an open bar for two hours.
How much does a Jet2Weddings package cost?
The exact cost of each package will differ for each couple depending on where you’re flying from and when you’d like your wedding to take place.
However, the companies have disclosed that there will be a deposit of 30% per couple – or £300, depending on which figure is higher – as well as an additional £60 deposit per person.
It’s also recommended that you separately purchase wedding insurance ‘sufficient for your specific arrangements’ to cover cancellation costs, cost of your wedding, attire and other key details in case your big day can’t go ahead or needs to be postponed.
Regardless of which package you choose, though, you can rest assured that you’ll be able to bring your old, new, something borrowed, and something blue to Cyprus, as each deal comes with a 22kg luggage allowance and 10kg hand luggage for the flights.
To ensure you make the most of your wedding trip, Jet2 is offering decent flight times, a bottle of champagne to enjoy onboard, one piece of cabin luggage, and, possibly best of all, a seat beside your soon-to-be spouse on the plane at no extra cost.
How do I book a Jet2Weddings package?
Firstly, you’ll need between two years and 12 weeks of notice to book your wedding. Further out is better as you’ll have more chance of securing your desired wedding date.
Once you know your budget, date and a rough idea of the guest list, all you need to do to start planning your happily ever after is send an enquiry on Jet2’s website, and wait for someone to contact you, or give them a call.
It really is as easy as saying ‘I do’.
