Heart have cancelled their remaining 2024 Rush Flush Tour dates as singer Ann Wilson has a course of preventative chemotherapy.

The iconic American rock group, who first found fame in the 1970s, were previously forced to call off their European leg as Ann had to undergo a ‘time-sensitive medical procedure.’

Now, their North American gigs have also been postponed as Ann, 74, revealed on Instagram she was having cancer treatment and had been advised by doctors to take the rest of the year off.

She said: ‘Dear friends, I recently underwent an operation to remove something that, as it turns out, was cancerous.

‘The operation was successful & I’m feeling great but my doctors are now advising me to undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy & I’ve decided to do it.’

Ann continued: ‘To the ticket buyers, I really do wish we could do these gigs. Please know that I absolutely plan to be back on stage in 2025. My team is getting those details sorted & we’ll let you know the plan as soon as we can.

‘Thank you for all the support. This is merely a pause. I’ve much more to sing.’

She added: ‘Respectfully, this is the last public statement I’d like to make on the matter.’

Ann was flooded with messages of support from her followers with @flippinfoxfarm writing: ‘Don’t worry about us, you just take care of yourself! Sending you prayers and positive juju!’

Echoing their sentiment, @djsinnang said: ‘Ann, YOU are the most important things to invest your energy in! All of us, your fans, will be there when and if you’re ready! Wishing you a speedy and full recovery!!’

@reevescaporicci added: ‘Take all the time you need to heal❤️❤️.’

Heart’s tour included numerous dates in North America including Charleston, Portland, San Francisco and LA from the end of this month until December.

They previously cancelled 14 concerts in France, The Netherlands, Luxembourg, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Belgium across June and July.

Six UK shows were also due to take place in London, Birmingham, Nottingham, Manchester, Leeds and Glasgow between July 1 and 9.

In May, Heart said in a statement posted on social media: ‘We regret to inform you that all upcoming Heart performances in Europe are cancelled.

‘In late May, Ann Wilson will undergo a time-sensitive but routine medical procedure for which the minimum recovery time is six weeks.’

It continued: ‘Heart deeply regrets this unfortunate circumstance and hopes to return to Europe soon. Refunds will be available at point of purchase as applicable.’

The band, initially comprised of sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson, guitarist Roger Fisher, bass player Steve Fossen, drummer Michael Derosier and Howard Leese, is best known for chart-topping singles including Magic Man, Crazy on You and Barracuda in the 70s.

They then had a comeback with These Dreams and their classic cover of Alone in the 1980s.

Heart is thought to be the first rock group fronted by a woman and in their decades-long career  have sold over 35million records and scored four Grammy nominations.
