Jeremy Clarkson fans are breathing a huge sigh of relief after his girlfriend Lisa Hogan shared a Clarkson’s Farm update.
Viewers of the smash hit Amazon Prime Video series were previously left devastated when pigs on the Diddly Squat farm tragically ‘died in alarming numbers’.
Now, though, Lisa has revealed on Instagram that they are ‘extremely proud grand pigletarents’ after one of their pigs gave birth to a number of healthy piglets.
Sharing a clip of nearly a dozen piglets feeding from their mother, the 51-year-old wrote: ‘Piglet alert! Many piglets, from our first gilt born on the farm (now that she’s produced a litter, she’s called a sow).
‘Births were fast and easy & we are extremely proud grand pigletarents.’
The new additions to the Cotswolds farm delighted Lisa’s 562K followers with @internationalpoptart exclaiming: ‘I cried with you guys when I watched Farm 3. So very happy all went well and bravo J for your fantastic invention.’
@denisea3105 enthused: ‘So glad all went well after the sadness of previous births. You’re going in the right direction.’
@ciara_marie_keogh said: ‘No more tears 🥹🥹.’
@joannebinks also added: ‘Ahhh this has made my day xx.’
Jeremy, 64, previously spoke to Metro.co.uk and other press ahead of Clarkson’s Farm season 3 about the devastating loss of his pigs.
He shared: ‘You don’t say, “Let’s buy some pigs and hope they die,” I’ve always liked pigs.’
‘My mother used to buy me toy pigs every Christmas and birthdays,’ he went on, recalling his ‘fondness’ for pigs.
‘I thought it would be fun to have them, and then they just died in alarming numbers.
‘It was very heart-breaking, I’d never ever seen Lisa, not once ever, until that all started.
‘It was just terrible. I mean they still die, but we’re getting more used to it now, we’re a bit more robust.’
He added: ‘We’re a bit stronger at dealing with it now. But it was a very heart-breaking time.’
Their deaths happened when the mother pig accidentally killed some of her piglets by sitting in on and suffocating them.
This broke viewers’ hearts as the piglets’ lifeless bodies were shown on camera on Clarkson’s Farm season 3.
Fans flocked to social media to share their heartache, calling the show a difficult watch. ‘Episode 4 of Clarkson’s Farm is not an easy watch #ClarksonsFarm,’ said @MidgardianMatt.
@MASZYNOZNAWSTWO commented: ‘Fourth episode of clarkson’s farm was bloody miserable, I constantly felt so sorry for them and their loss.’
Released in 2021, Clarkson’s Farm follows the former Top Gear presenter’s attempt at running a farm in Oxfordshire.
Clarkson’s Farm is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
