Celebrity Big Brother star Dee Kelly has accused winner Gary Busey of sexual misconduct while they starred on the reality prorgamme.
The Benefits Street star, 53, described the American actor, who won the Channel 5 show in 2014, as ‘an absolute nightmare’ who would ‘expose himself to the females and back us into corners.’
She claimed that he was ‘not capable’ of being on the show, meaning the other housemates had to act as ’24 hour a day carers’, and had to be ‘dragged’ into the shower.
Dee also alleged that it was written into Busey’s contract that he would win Celebrity Big Brother.
When asked about her experience with Busey, 80, Dee told the B2B Business Club Vodcast: ‘[Busey was] an absolute nightmare.
‘He wasn’t capable of being in that house. We were 24 hours a day carers.
‘The guy won the show he was in there for a month and he had two pairs of trousers and no underwear and one jumper.
‘He had to be dragged into the shower by Audley and James and washed. He couldn’t wash.
‘He used to expose himself to the females and back us into corners.
‘We used to go into the Diary Room and say, “This is not right.”‘
Dee claimed the housemates ‘didn’t get a response’ after raising concerns about the Point Break actor’s behaviour.
On the reality show, the Lethal Weapon actor was reprimanded by Celebrity Big Brother after he took his trousers off in the kitchen while fixing his leg brace. Busey was not wearing any underwear and exposed himself to Dee and other housemates.
When Busey asked Dee if she had been offended, she replied: ‘I’ve never walked into a kitchen and seen someone with his trousers down…if I’d seen a pair of boxer shorts, I probably wouldn’t have been so shocked.
‘I didn’t expect to come in the kitchen and see Gary Busey’s bits!’
In 2022, Busey denied allegations of sexual offences that were made against him at fan convention, Monster Mania Con, in New Jersey, describing them as ‘all false.’
It came after he was charged with two counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact, one count of attempted criminal sexual contact and one count of harassment.
The charges stem from alleged offences at the annual convention at the Doubletree Hotel on August 12-14 in Cherry Hill, just across the state line from Pennsylvania’s Philadelphia, police said.
Asked on camera about the allegations by media outlet TMZ, he said: ‘None of that happened.
‘There was my partner, a camera-lady, and me, and two girls. It took less than 10 seconds, and they left. Nothing happened, it was all false.
Asked if he had been inappropriate without his knowing, he added: ‘No, I was not… not inappropriate at all, and I have eyewitnesses.’
In August 2022, CBS News reported that Busey was slated to appear in court but the hearing was cancelled.
The day after he was accused of sex offences he was pictured on with his trousers down on a bench before pulling them back up and tying them at the waist.
Busey’s representative addressed the photos after they emerged, telling Page Six: ‘Gary often sits on the bench in front of his home to meditate and look at the ocean.
‘Our only guess is that perhaps at his age, he realised he couldn’t get to the bathroom in time which explains what happened in the video of him on the bench.’
Busey had suffered permanent brain damage in 1988 after being severely injured in a motorcycle accident which left him with a fractured skull as he was not wearing a helmet.
In 2008, while appearing on Celebrity Rehab, Busey was referred to psychiatrist Charles Sophy who suspected that the actor’s brain injury had a greater effect on him than was realised, leading him to speak and act impulsively as his mental ‘filters’ had been weakened as a result of the accident.
Busey – whose acting credits includes Point Break, Under Siege, Lethal Weapon, and Predator 2 – has faced legal woes in the past, after authorities found cocaine and other narcotics in his Malibu home back in 1995.
He faced drug charges, including one count of cocaine possession, three counts of possession of marijuana, possession of hallucinogenic mushrooms and being under the influence of cocaine.
The movie star was also accused of sexually assaulting a female employee on the set of the Celebrity Apprentice in 2011.
