Tom Cruise is clearly making the most of life in the UK while filming for Mission: Impossible 8, as he appeared to stop in at a Michelin-starred restaurant during a break.
Off the back of last year’s hugely successful Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning: Part One, the 61-year-old is currently working on the eighth instalment of the action franchise, reprising his role as Ethan Hunt.
While details are thin concerning the sequel, Simon Pegg and Hayley Atwell were spotted exploring Derbyshire over the last few weeks, sparking speculation that parts of the movie were being filmed nearby.
Tom, who recently split from socialite girlfriend Elsina Khayrova, followed suit as he took in the sights of Bakewell, paying an impromptu visit to Lovage Restaurant between shoots.
As well as building up his strength for those epic action scenes, the Hollywood icon proudly posed for snaps with the staff, showing off a longer hairdo than we’re used to seeing.
Alongside pictures on the venue’s official Instagram page, a message read: ‘We were honored to have shared our food and hospitality with @tomcruise and his cast and crew last week.
‘A truly humbling experience to have had such a kind and genuine group of guests join us.
‘Mr Cruise was kind enough to offer a photo with us all and has given us permission to share.
‘Thank you for choosing Lovage – we would be thrilled to welcome you all back again! A special thank you to Mrs M & Mrs C for your wonderful visit & careful arrangement.’
Tom smiled widely in the upload, sporting a black T-shirt and jeans for the day, coupled with a black puffer jacket and smart shoes.
Fans in the comments couldn’t get over the A-List visit, with Gemma Nahas penning: ‘He’s such a great guy and always smiling!’
‘Amazing! Well of course, he has impeccable taste, so why wouldn’t he dine with you? It must have been so exciting for you all,’ Eleanor Scriven agreed.
SBosset said: ‘He is so lucky to have been able to dine in your fabulous restaurant!’
As Riaghei added: ‘My favourite part is how chuffed all the staff look. Well done to you all. Keep shining.’
Although little is known about the upcoming sequel, which is slated for release next May, director Christoher McQuarrie teased there would be some explosive underwater moments ahead.
Speaking to Collider after the release of Dead Reckoning – Part One – he promised that things would be taken to the next level.
‘Tom and I are constantly re-evaluating our own work and asking ourselves how we could have done it better,’ the filmmaker said.
‘We’ve done underwater in Edge of Tomorrow, and we worked underwater in Rogue Nation, and we left very dissatisfied with those sequences.
‘And we analyze why we were dissatisfied. What were all the factors working against us? The biggest being, not having real knowledge in that area.
‘Everything you’re looking at in ‘Dead Reckoning’ is the application of knowledge from previous sequences.’
Bring it on!
