Sam Smith took to the stage at Lollapalooza Argentina festival with a very revealing outfit indeed.
Contrary to their hit song’s name, Sam’s pants were indeed holy during their performance in South America on the star’s Gloria tour.
The Unholy hitmaker, 31, proved the show must go on as they announced, ‘I’ve split my trousers!’ before giving the crowd a cheeky (in more ways than one) bum wiggle.
Sam has a break in their schedule in April and returns to the stage on May 17 where they will rock up to Mexico, before heading over to Europe in June for the summer months and closing the tour in Berlin in September.
But back to those pants. Sam can be seen strutting their stuff in multiple videos, in one of which they actually point to the split, fully aware of its existence, and laughs it off. Icon.
Let Sam be an example of how to walk off an embarrassing public moment in style.
The Dancing with a Stranger hitmaker has previously rocked some wild looks, and their last one had similar bum-cheeky vibes to this occasion.
While walking the Vivienne Westwood runway earlier this month, the non-binary icon flashed a little bit of bum cheek to the audience.
At the Paris Fashion Week event the star proved a catwalk natural, as they rocked the daring Westwood-patterned outfit made up of a red tartan cape, knee-high red and black socks, a light green bodysuit, and tiny high-waisted pants.
Naturally, Sam was helped along with a wooden walking stick which looked like it had come straight out of Epping Forest, and was almost as tall as their own 6ft 2 stature.
In June the megastar also got people talking over their devil costume which was really quite something.
Sam took to the stage to perform their Barbie soundtrack song Man I Am in a black thong, fishnet tights, the best knee-high boots you’ve ever seen, and a mighty devil-horned hat – oh, and a pitchfork. Of course.
And who could ever forget that iconic balloon-like black latex look Sam wore to last year’s Brit Awards?
Designer Harri – full name Harikrishnan Keezhathil Surendran Pilla – revealed it took four days to construct the outfit.
Sam actually walked all the way from their car to the event’s red carpet with the outfit fully inflated with air.
The star collaborates closely with stylist Ben Reardon and previously told GQ Magazine he’s helped Sam find their style.
‘I used to be so scared of fashion,’ Sam said.
‘Ben started from the basics. He just started to introduce me to clothes that just fit in the right place on my body and matched the way I felt inside.
‘And having fun with it. I like funny things. And so we’ve leaned into that more, and my personal wardrobe has got a bit of humour to it.’
