Made In Chelsea star Lucy Watson has welcomed her first child with James Dunmore after opening up about her fertility struggles.
The 33-year-old first starred in the London-based reality TV show in 2012, and was later joined by James, 32.
Lucy took to social media with the happy news today, as she wrote, ‘he’s here 🤍 2/3/24’ alongside a black and white photo of her, James and their little boy.
Fellow cast members took to the post with their congratulations, as Jess Hunt wrote: ‘Awwww congratulations 🤍🤍🤍’
Lucy’s sister Tiffany Watson, who still appears on the show, commented: ‘My beautiful nephew ❤️❤️❤️ love him so much.’
Jamie Laing wrote, ‘Congrats guys,’ while Zara McDermott commented: ‘Congratulations.’
The pair – who married in 2021 – announced they were expecting their ‘miracle first child’ in September, after Lucy previously opened up about struggling to become pregnant.
They tied the knot in a Kefalonia ceremony after seven years together and enjoyed a sun-soaked Seychelles honeymoon.
During a Q&A on her Instagram after her pregnancy announcement, the TV star revealed: ‘There were times when it felt like bad news after bad news, it was never ending and the light at the end of the tunnel felt faint…
‘We have seen so many specialists over the last few years and there were times when I wasn’t sure if this could ever happen for us.
‘We know there are people out there who have it way worse and for everyone struggling, I see you and feel your pain.’
Holding back tears in a video in October, Lucy spoke directly to people going through a similar struggle in the light of her happy news.
She said: ‘I thought I owed it to anyone going through struggles with fertility do a little video to acknowledge your pain.
‘Sorry I am getting emotional, but I want to acknowledge everyone dealing with fertility issues. If this has been triggering for anyone then I can relate to that a lot.
‘Everyone had been so sweet and I’ve had lots of messages on Instagram from similar people. Fertility problems aren’t spoken about enough and if you’ve had a normal cycles and periods you assume it will happen really quickly for you.
‘I had a few friends going through the same problems at the same time and some had harder journeys than others. I want to do a longer video on all I’ve learnt over the past two years and when I want to learn about something I’m pretty thorough.’
She added: ‘I also wanted to say for people that do want children, if you have the financial option to get testing done then do it sooner rather than later don’t wait until you’re ready to try. There can be so much going on under the surface – this applies to men and women by the way.
‘I’m not miserable by the way! I’m just emotional and this can be a really hard topic to talk about. I am going to carry on talking about it and help others as much as I can!’
Lucy’s little sister Tiff is mum to Jude Maximus McGeehan, who she welcomed with footballer Cameron McGeehan in June last year.
After appearing on Made In Chelsea for four years, Lucy left in 2016 and last year she revealed to Jamie Laing on his Private Parts podcast it was because she valued her relationship with James over the show’s drama.
‘At that point I was quite serious with James so I was like “actually I value this more,”‘ she said, explaining how she also wanted to do ‘so much more’ in terms of work.
Now Lucy works across multiple businesses and is an animal rights activist, as well as a vegan author.
In the E4 reality TV show, Lucy was well-loved for her bold personality and wonderful skill of putting people in firmly in their place.
One of Lucy’s most defining moments was early on in her MIC days when she asked a table full of irritated cast members: ‘Why is everyone getting all up in my grill?’
The iconic sentence came after Spencer Matthews accused Andy Jordan of stealing best friend – and new Radio 1 host – Jamie’s date.
One episode saw Jamie make a grand romantic gesture for Lucy at a stately home, and she also dated Spencer during her time in the series, but after a romantic trip to Paris, things didn’t end too well.
Thankfully all are now happily married, as Spencer has three children with icon Vogue Williams and Jamie is settled down with fellow MIC cast member Sophie Habboo.
