Owl has been unmasked on this week’s The Masked Singer.
Judges Rita Ora, Mo Gilligan, Davina McCall, and Jonathan Ross have spent weeks trying to guess who the celebrity performing in front of them.
And after another batch of mysteries in tonight’s episodes, Eiffel Tower was left in the sing-off with Owl, with the other stars saved by a vote, leaving the decision in the judges’ hands.
Owl was finally revealed to be Lorraine Kelly.
The guesses had been far off, ranging from Emily Atack, Gabby Logan and Alex Scott.
After epic performances from the likes of Owl, Piranha, Dippy Egg and Cricket, Lorraine was finally revealed, saying she’s ‘loved’ her time on the stage.
‘I’ve never sang in front of an audience so it was amazing to do that.’
Lorraine performed Happy Talk by Captain Sensible, having previously showcased her vocal talents with a performance of Kylie Minogue’s Padam Padam.
Although the judges were convinced Owl would be a football star or perhaps a Waterloo Road actress, the clues began to fall into place after the singer’s identity was revealed.
The ‘Celebrity Apple Juice’ bottle in Owl’s school locker in one of the clues was actually a link to being a guest on Iain Stirling’s Celebrity Juice.
Meanwhile, the tangerines in the desk drawer were a nod to Lorraine’s beloved football team, Dundee United.
And the ‘Cubee 2 Cubee’ coffee cub hinted at Lorraine’s appearance on The Cube with her daughter.
In her riddle me this clue, Lorraine nodded to ‘hilarity’ and ‘parody’ which nodded to Dawn French parodying her in Absolutely Fabulous.
Other clues over recent weeks had seen Owl say: ‘I like to stir things up.’
And that she was ‘happy talking’, like a presenter!
Before Owl was unmasked, Mo in particular was confident she would be revealed as former England captain Alex, and promised to strip down to his ‘boxers and socks’ if he was right…
‘I was astounded that the panel didn’t get me right away because I thought they would hear my Scottish accent,’ Lorraine said, following her unmasking.
‘I worked really quite hard to try and not be too Scottish, but I thought they would get me right away, and I thought it was hilarious who they were saying.
‘It was really funny. I was really pleased that they didn’t get me.’
Last week saw Julia Sawalha unmasked as Bubble Tea, while the rest of the series has seen Dionne Warwick unmasked as Weather, Pointless host Alexander Armstrong as Chicken Caesar, and Strictly judge Shirley Ballas as Rat.
Who could be the next celebrity from the remaining masked singers?
The Masked Singer airs Saturdays at 8pm on ITV1.
