The One Show may have made an almighty blunder and given away the identity of one of the Masked Singer contestants.
On Thursday, hosts Roman Kemp and Lauren Laverne chatted to Masked Singer star Davina McCall to discuss the brand-new series.
Doctor Who fans will know the star also made a brilliant appearance in the 2023 Christmas Day special, where new Doctor Ncuti Gatwa saved her life from a falling Christmas tree.
And on Thursday’s chat, host Lauren made a very interesting comment, telling Davina: ‘A former Doctor Who will be making an appearance on The Masked Singer this season.’
Sure, it could be as a guest judge on the show, but this year’s guests have already been announced as Lorraine Kelly, Sir Lenny Henry, Rob Brydon and Ellie Goulding – no big DW names there.
The conversation moved on very quickly with no reference made to Lauren’s comment about a former Doctor being in the series.
But later in the show Davina described what she called the best unnasking of the series so far, revealing she sprinted on stage when the celebrity’s identity was revealed as she knew them well.
Lauren’s comment may have meant nothing – but some sharp-eared fans also noticed the potential spoiler.
Lucy Crewe took to X where she asked: ‘A former Doctor Who will be on #MaskedSinger?’
To which another fan responded and said ‘I noticed that, big spoiler, and nobody seems to have picked up on it.
‘Unless she meant as a guest on the panel for a week?’
We have some time to wait before any potential Doctors are unveiled under the mask, as the new series only began last week.
The first celebrity unmasked was the legendary Dionne Warwick, whose distinctive voice meant she was correctly guessed by multiple people including Davina.
Also taking to the stage this year and yet to be unmasked are animals Owl, Rat, Cricket, and Piranha, along with Weather, Bubble Tea, Air Fryer, Chicken Caesar, Dippy Egg, Eiffel Tower, Maypole and Bigfoot.
BBC has been contacted for comment.
