Britain’s Got Talent 2023 is somehow already nearing the end, and Musa Motha is one of the favourites to be crowed the winner.
It’s been an absolutely wild season from start to finish, from hundreds of Ofcom complaints after a man set himself on fire to solve a rubix cube, to Simon Cowell bursting into tears at a particularly emotional act.
After the rollercoaster auditions stage and nail-biting live semi-finals, we now have all of our 2023 BGT finalists for the live show on Sunday.
But as we prepare to see who’ll be crowned the winner, may of us might need a refresher.
So, who is Britain’s Got Talent finalist Musa Motha and what was his audition?
Who is Musa Motha?
Musa Motha, originally from South Africa but who lives in London, is a 27-year-old dancer hoping to walk away the winner of Britain’s Got Talent 2023.
The incredibly talented dancer had grown up with dreams of being a footballer, but tragically lost his leg to cancer.
He has since found a passion for music and dance, and incorporates his amputation into his dance routines – regularly leading to tears from viewers and the judges.
His semi-final routine saw him perform to Where We Come Alive by Ruelle, initially dancing alone and using one crutch, before being joined by backing dancers and finishing using both crutches.
Judge Bruno Tonioli was left in floods of tears for a second time after watching Musa’s semi-finals auditions, after there wasn’t a dry eye left in the house during his initial audition.
What was Musa Motha’s Britain’s Got Talent audition?
Musa Motha’s first audition for Britain’s Got Talent was absolutely unforgettable and saw him sail straight through to the semi-finals.
He initially spoke about developing cancer and having to have his leg amputated and admitted he was nervous before launching into a routine along to Beyonce track Runnin (Lose It All).
Musa quickly proved he had nothing to be nervous about as he expertly danced using his crutches, and had Bruno and Amanda Holden in tears before the end of his performance.
As the routine came to an end, all four judges – including Simon Cowell and Alesha Dixon – rose to give him a standing ovation.
He was the last act of the audition stages, and earned a BGT first as all four of the judges pressed the golden buzzer for him.
Britain’s Got Talent final airs Sunday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
