Michael J Fox is ‘dong great’ after he fell on stage during a Back to the Future Q&A panel over the weekend.
The 61-year-old – who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 1991 – sparked concern when he tumbled in front of the audience in Philadelphia.
He appeared to trip over his feet while walking on the stage on Sunday, and landed on the sofa, before continuing on with the rest of the panel with former co-stars Christopher Lloyd and Tom Wilson.
Speaking after the incident, the actor’s reps squashed fears, insisting that he’s ‘doing great’ and directed fans towards his new documentary, Still.
‘Michael has Parkinson’s. It’s no secret that people with Parkinson’s fall,’ they told the New York Post.
‘If you watch the video he immediately jumps to feet and continues with the Q&A.
‘If you have any other inquiries about Michael and living with PD, please watch his documentary STILL streaming on AppleTV +.’
Michael was diagnosed with the incurable condition at the age of 29, and has been raising awareness for the symptoms ever since.
The Stuart Little icon recently revealed that managing his illness – in which parts of the brain are progressively damaged – has become ‘much harder’.
Speaking to People Magazine, he insisted that his health issues had given him a new appreciation for living every day.
‘I truly live one day at a time,’ he said. ‘I live for each moment and I love each day.
‘If you told me when I was 29, when they just diagnosed it, that at 61 I’d still be going at it with a film to promote, that life would be so full, I never would have guessed it.
‘I’m cautiously optimistic, but mostly optimistic, not so much cautious, as my family would say.’
Although he is ‘cautiously optimistic’, Michael added that he doesn’t think he will be able to see in his 80th birthday.
‘You don’t die from Parkinson’s. You die with Parkinson’s,’ he added. ‘I’m not gonna be 80.’
