Pop band S Club 7 has rebranded as S Club following the death of Paul Cattermole.
Cattermole died aged 46 after being found on April 6 at his home in Dorset, his family confirmed in a statement.
Tributes poured in from the likes of his bandmates, who said they were ‘lucky to have had him in our lives.’
Following speculation over whether the group’s reunion tour will go ahead, the Bring It All Back members have issued a tearful update.
Hannah Spearritt will not join their 25th anniversary tour which will see the band become a five-piece.
‘It’s been a while since you heard from us but, in all honesty, we’ve been in a bit of shock and it’s taken a while to find the right words to describe how we feel about losing our brother Paul,’ Jon Lee began in a video shared to their Instagram.
Rachel Stevens continued: ‘We’re just taking time to process and get our heads around it all and also taking time to share time together so we can remember Paul and all the memories we had together.’
‘It’s just really sad,’ said an emotional Tina Barrett. ‘It’s really, really hard to process it right now.’
‘We’re all still so much in disbelief,’ agreed Bradley McIntosh.
‘Paul was a big brother to us, even you guys out there, he truly was a unique specimin of a human being. No one could ever, ever replace our Paul but he lives on inside each and every one of us.’
Jo O’Meara continued: ‘Whenever Paul would walk into the room, you definitely knew that he was there because he would just light it up with humour and love, just a really special person.’
The tears then started flowing, as the group held each other tightly.
Addressing Hannah’s absence, Jon went on: ‘You’ve probably noticed that there’s only five of us here today, and although Hannah will always be part of S Club 7, she won’t be joining us on this tour.
‘We wish her all the best for the future.’
‘However, the five of us are really excited and geared up to crack on,’ he assured.
The band plan to make their tour a ‘tribute’ to Cattermole.
They have also renamed the tour to The Good Times Tour in his honour.
‘It’s the song Paul was gonna sing…’ Jon tried to explain, before becoming choked up and Tina taking over.
‘We’re calling the tour The Good Times Tour in tribute to Paul because that was his song and all the fans know that that was his song,’ she said.
‘It just feels right.’
‘He’s always gonna be with us,’ said Rachel.
‘We’re just gonna keep his memory alive and share it with all of you and it’s gonna make it even more special.’
Jo concluded by thanking their fans for the outpouring of love they’ve received since the loss of their friend and bandmate.
Their announcement comes after the number seven had been removed from the band’s social media and website on Sunday.
