Jamie Foxx has spoken out following his recent health scare, saying that he ‘appreciates all the love’ his fans have sent him.
In a post shared on Instagram, the actor broke his silence for the first time since he was hospitalised for a ‘medical emergency’.
Last month, the 55-year-old’s daughter Corinne confirmed that he was being treated by doctors after a ‘complication’.
In a statement previously released on social media, she wrote: ‘From the Foxx Family: We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday.
‘Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers.
‘The family asks for privacy during this time. Much love, The Foxx Family.’
On Wednesday May 3, the Django Unchained star shared a message on Instagram, writing text in white font over a black square.
‘Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed,’ he wrote, alongside a praying hand, a heart and a fox emoji.
Numerous fans commented underneath the post expressed how relieved they were to hear from him.
‘GOD IS SO GOOD!!! So glad to see you posting!!’ one person tweeted, while another fan wrote: ‘Amen 🙏 thank you lord….may you be well soon 🙌.’
Someone else added: ‘Stay strong Jamie you’re one of my idols !!!’ as one Instagram user penned: ‘We are praying for you !!!! 💪💪💪.’
On his Instagram Story, Jamie also reshared a post explaining that he and his daughter Corinne would be replaced by stand-in hosts Kelly Osbourne and Nick Cannon on Beat Shazam, the game show that they present together.
‘Appreciate ya my boy @nickcannon See u all soon,’ he wrote in response.
Last month, it was reported that Jamie was ‘awake and alert’, as he remained in hospital.
It was claimed that he had been in hospital since suffering a health ‘complication’, with medical experts reportedly running tests to try and figure out what happened to him.
‘He’s okay, thank God,’ a source told People Magazine. ‘He’s still in the hospital and doctors are running tests but he’s awake and alert.
‘They’re keeping him under observation.’
Nick, 42, later spoke out about his friend’s condition, saying that he was ‘praying’ for him.
‘I literally have been saying prayers out loud. Words of affirmation for my big brother,’ he shared.
The TV personality added: ‘I was reluctant to go all the way there, and even talk about it, but he gave me the blessing, so it’s a beautiful thing. He’s awake. They say he’s alert, so, we love it.
‘That’s family right there.’
