Carol Vorderman has confessed she was anything but a model student and once got so riled up she told a nun to ‘f*** off’.
The British media personality, 62, is best known for appearing on the game show Countdown for 26 years from 1982 until 2008.
Before making a career in front of the camera, Carol worked as an engineer, but the journey to get there had been somewhat hard fought.
Attending Blessed Edward Jones Catholic High School in Rhyl, Wales, Carol has now admitted she could be difficult at times.
When speaking to Myleene Klass about body positivity in a conversation set to air on Wednesday night’s episode of I’m A Celebrity…South Africa, Carol shared some details of her teenage years.
‘Never did my homework,’ she said when asked what she was like at school.
‘Seriously! Half an hour at the back of the bus. It was all too easy.
‘I was always being told off. I told a nun to f*** off once. She was horrible.’
She added: ‘I was a naughty girl. I was in nightclubs in Manchester at 15 with the bad boys. Loved it.’
During the chat the pair also discussed ditching the bathroom scales with Carol explaining she now only goes on ‘dress size’.
Agreeing she did the same Myleene, 45, said that ‘the second I had daughters, I threw out the scales’.
‘No way, I’m not going to have them ruled by numbers. Those numbers,’ she added.
Carol then said that she threw hers out in 1999 and hadn’t known what her weight was ‘this century’.
Going on to explain that people asked what her weight was ‘all the time’ Myleene said she had no clue.
‘Why would you let your children measure themselves, their value, their contribution by numbers on a scale? I was like, no, get rid, I don’t want it in the house,’ she said.
‘Body positivity is so important. I want my girls to be empowered by what their abilities are and what they have to say for themselves and how they think. I want that to be celebrated, not skin and glands and fat. We all have it.’
Back on her first appearance on the show in 2006 Myleene caused a stir with a now famous white bikini which became one of the most talked-about shower moments.
She also recreated it this season, which has no doubt played a part in helping her swimwear collection with Next fly off the shelves.
The exact one she wore on the show was later auctioned off for charity, raising £7,500.
I’m a Celebrity… South Africa continues tonight at 9pm on ITV1.
