Mark Wright has earned himself a lie down after smashing this weekend’s London Marathon.
The former Towie star, 36, was supported by wife Michelle Keegan, 35, after crossing the finish line and bagging himself a medal.
‘Twas a family affair on Sunday (April 23), as the reality star ran with brother Josh Wright, as well as his parents Mark and Carol Wright.
Mark and Josh finished with a brilliant race time of 3:36:53, while their parents walked with the hopes of completing the marathon in under seven hours.
The family ran as ambassadors for Flora’s Making Healthy Switches campaign, which encourages people to make healthy lifestyle changes to benefit themselves and the planet.
Celebrating his big achievement, Mark shared a series of snaps to Instagram of him running, powering through the rain before smiling proudly with a medal around his neck.
Drying off in a tent, he placed an arm around Michelle for a sweet snap, and she looked every inch the proud wife.
Singing his brother’s praises, Mark wrote in his caption: ‘Completing both our second marathons, but this time together!! Wouldn’t have wanted to cross the line with anyone else.
‘We have done some things and seen some places together as brothers, now we add a new one the list. The @londonmarathon. Love this kid so much @joshwright4444 another one ticked off boy 😊💙’
Reciprocating the love, his sibling commented: ‘Emotions off the scale but something else ticked off. Love ya bro 💙💙’
His comments section was flooded with congratulatory messages, as fellow marathon runner Jack Quickenden wrote: ‘Well in bro’.
‘Well done mate 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼’, commented Dan Osborne.
Ruth Langsford and Jamie Redknapp also commented clapping emoji.
This is the second time Mark has completed the London Marathon, finishing in under four hours last year too, with Michelle there once again for an emotional kiss at the finish line.
It seems Mark definitely knows what he’s doing now, but he’s been trained by the best.
The Heart Radio presenter previously revealed he had enlisted three-time Marathon winner Paula Radcliffe to help him shape up for the event last October.
‘You can’t really beat it, can you? She’s incredible,’ Mark previously told Ok! Magazine.
‘When you’re training for something like this, you always take advice on Google or people you know who have done it, everyone gives you different advice, but I just stuck with her expertise and advice.
‘And of course, it was the best. Because she’s the best of all time.’
Paula had nothing but praise for Mark’s efforts during their training sessions, and said: ‘I think he would say he probably didn’t see himself as a marathon runner in the beginning.
‘He was quicker with the shorter distances and I think coming from football as well, that kind of made that side easier. But he’s probably surprised himself.’
No doubt Mark will be feeling incredibly proud tonight, especially given the setbacks he’s had in the past.
The TV star was due to run the London Marathon for the first time in 2021, but was forced to pull out due to injury.
A devastated Mark later admitted he gets ‘nervous’ every time he runs now after suffering from a tear in his calf muscle.
